Very few places can truly blend natural beauty, agriculture and industrial development the way Ferdinand does. The strong elements of faith, religion, family values, work ethics, sense of community, and respect and appreciation of environment form the foundation upon which Ferdinand was built, and continues to grow.

The Town of Ferdinand continues to face new challenges each year that stimulate the community to make improvements, prepare for growth, and embrace the potential of its future.  The links below comprise the Town's ten year Comprehensive Plan.  The document serves as a guide and outlines objectives, policies, and actions that will guide our Town's growth and development.

It was adopted in 2008.

FHTCThe Town of Ferdinand was a pilot community for Indiana's HomeTown Competitiveness (HTC) program as one of only nine communities in the state (three towns, six counties) to be approved for the program back in 2008.

At a joint meeting of HTC and Vision committee members, the groups merged the Indiana HomeTownCompetitiveness and Vision Group efforts into one united effort for both Ferdinand and the southeastern Dubois County community. The new effort, titled Ferdinand HomeTown Competitiveness (FHTC), was approved by the group and will feature one steering committee and the alignment of teams into fewer overall pillars.

FHTC now features six overall pillars: Youth (includes Brain Gain), Entrepreneurship (includes Business and Community Development), Ferdinand Community Foundation (the original charitable giving pillar), Leadership, Population Growth, and Tourism.

The FHTC efforts and initiatives have benefited our community in many ways since 2008 and we look forward to continuing these initiatives well into the future.
