BUDGET ADOPTION HEARING

October 10, 2017

            The Ferdinand Town Council met for a budget adoption hearing at 7:30 PM on Tuesday, October 10, 2017 in the Town Hall. Present were Vice-President, Debbie Johnson and Ron Weyer, Council member, and Clerk-Treasurer, Beverly Schulthise.  Absent was Kenneth Sicard, Council member. Debbie Johnson opened the meeting with the pledge, Government student; Brandon Ledlow for Forest Park HS was present to observe the meeting. Also present were members of Troop Pack 186 Webelows. Scout leader was Michele Kieper. Scouts present were Gabe Steckler, Eli Martin, Gaven Kieper, and Owen Martin. They attended the meeting in order to get a badge. They also had suggestions for improving Ferdinand. Solar panels, sundials in the park, Dunkin donuts, and geo cashing were mentioned.

            Ordinance 2017-12, an ordinance or resolution for appropriations and tax rates was adopted on motion by Ron and seconded by Debbie. Motion carried 2-yes, 0-no. The adopted budget is $3,696,724 and net assessed value is $118,334,594. The adopted tax rate is 0.8216. Last year’s rate was 0.6444. Resolution 2017-5, a resolution to reduce current year’s budget to provide funding for 2018 was adopted on motion by Ron and seconded by Debbie. Motion carried 2-yes, 0-no. Rainy Day and Cumulative Capital Dev. funds are affected.

            Being no further business to come before the Council, meeting adjourned at 7:58 PM on motion by Ron and seconded by Debbie. Motion carried 2-yes, 0-no.
