June 21, 2008 The contest will begin at 6 p.m. in the Community Center parking lot The Ferdinand Optimist Club will be conducting a Car Cram fire drill contest on Friday, June 20th, from 6:00 - 8:00 pm. Any groups ranging in size from 2 up to 8 will be invited to play the game. As participant names are given, the Optimists will write these names down on a precise location within the van where we want them to end up after the Fire Drill takes place, however this information will only be disclosed during the Fire Drill. Participants can sit anywhere they want inside the van as long as they are sitting at the start. Participants will have to jump out of the vehicle, do two complete circles around the van and then grab this seating chart which will be folded and placed under the windshield wiper. They'll have to quickly determine their new seating location and then do two more complete circles around the van before climbing back inside, closing all doors, and ending up in their newly assigned seat. Of course, all of this will have to be done within a given timeframe. Optimists believe that when life hands you lemons, you should make lemonade. With that in mind, we will be handing out bottles of lemonade to those groups who successfully complete the task on time.
