March 21, 2016 Special Meeting Town Council Minutes

March 21, 2016

The Ferdinand Town Council met for a special meeting at 6:00 PM on Monday, March 21, 2016 in the YMCA Community Room. Present were President, Ken Sicard, Debbie Johnson, Council member, Clerk Treasurer, Beverly Schulthise, and Town Attorney, Sharon Bohnenkemper. Also present were members of the Plan Commission, Economic Development Board, Zoning Board of Appeals, and Park Board. The purpose of the meeting was to devise an action plan for the implementation of the Town’s Comprehensive Plan to its fullest advantage. There were also members of the public present to give comments.

Ken gave a short power point presentation and also welcomed everyone present. Kathy Kleindorfer, Facilitator, talked about the agenda and reviewed the Theme report. She asked people present to select items from themes for inclusion in Comprehensive plan. She also made an action card for each item discussed, placing it under the appropriate category. Categories included community character, recreational and cultural opportunities, economic development, promotion and marketing, community development, housing, local government and land use. There were several areas that were focused on. Input from the audience was written down and Chris James will now put these ideas into a plan of action for the Plan Commission, Economic Development Commission, and Town Council.

Being no further business to come before the Council and Boards, the meeting adjourned at 8:15 PM on motion by Debbie and seconded by Ken. Meeting adjourned.
